Antares or FactFinder?

These two products are not in the same league, and that is not false modesty. FactFinder is an enterprise product sold as a project. Antares is a subscription you put live yourself in ten minutes. Which one is right is decided by your organisation, not by a feature list.

Short version: if you have a merchandising team, a tender process and a five-figure annual budget, take the enterprise route. If nobody between 1,000 and 100,000 products works on search full time, we are the more realistic answer.

What FactFinder does well

  • Depth that comes from years

FactFinder has worked on search and merchandising for large retailers for a long time. If you arrive with very specific requirements, the odds are good that they already have an answer — with us it might be a line on the roadmap.

  • Guidance instead of self-service

Project business means there are people who set the search up with you, tune it and look after it for years. For a company with its own merchandising team that is an advantage, not a drawback. Our model assumes you want to do it yourself.

  • References at your size

If you have half a million items, several countries and SLAs with penalties, you will find references there that we do not have today. We are new, and our largest package stops at 150,000 products — better said now than in a kick-off.

Where Antares differs

A price instead of a quote
€49 · €99 · €299 a month, there to read on the pricing page before you speak to anyone. You try it for 30 days, and only then does it become a question whether anybody phones at all.
Ten minutes instead of a project
Install the plugin, connect your shop with one click, watch the catalogue read in, pick a layout, publish. No agency needed, no integration project, and your existing search stays underneath in case we go down.
Margin as a slider, not as a consulting deliverable
Six sliders in the panel, with a live list underneath showing which products move. Publishing is one click and so is rolling back — no ticket, no appointment.

When you should not switch

Stay with an enterprise solution if you have a team running search full time, if procurement goes through a tender, if you need SLAs with penalties, or if your catalogue runs well past 150,000 items. In all of those cases we would be the wrong tool and a switch would cost more than it saves.

How a switch works

In parallel and with no cut-over date. Antares reads your catalogue in while FactFinder keeps running; the change only becomes visible when you publish in the panel. Bring synonyms and redirects along as CSV. It is worth starting with one sales channel — the smallest shop, or B2C — so you can compare before you move everything.
